We are thrilled to be a grantee this year, enabling us to continue working with businesses and events along the south coast to reduce the amount of single-use plastic used in the area, and allowing us to expand our community and schools outreach programme.
Emsworth Business Association have supported the Final Straw Solent since day 1 when we started out as the Final Straw Emsworth, and we are incredibly grateful to them. Their unwavering support helped us to sign up our first businesses to the campaign, and they have continued to cheer us on as we have grown! They supported the Final Straw Solent at the 2018 Black Tie Ball and helped to raise some valuable funds for the campaign. Huge thanks to them for all their effort and continued support.
Postcode Publications is a local paper covering the PO7-PO11 areas on the south coast of England. Revenue raised from advertisements in the paper and supporters is donated to local campaigns and causes. Postcode Publications so far have helped us to provide reusable bags and bottles to 900 pupils in a local secondary school in a deprived area – their support is greatly appreciated.
Portsmouth Water helped to enable us to buy Chilly’s water bottles that we could sell to raise funds for the campaign. We were able to sell the bottles at nearly cost price to supporters, giving access to more people to these high quality water bottles. Thank you so much for your support!

Solent Sky Services are based on the south coast and specialise in creating visual experiences. They’re always out flying drones and filming from the ground helping you tell your story. They have filmed several of our beach cleans and made short films for us for social media purposes. We are grateful for their ongoing support!
